The movie Bridesmaids is a story unlike many others. Though, it shows how hard times can turn into harder times, then can eventually change and turn itself around as long as you â€Å"hold on† according to their favorite Wilson Phillips song in the movie. Annie is the main character of the movie; she is a single woman and failed business owner of a bakery in her hometown. She is down on her luck with almost no money. She realizes this more than ever when her best friend, Lillian gets engaged and gets asked to be her maid-of-honor for the wedding. In the movie, being a maid-of-honor is a difficult job; from the expensive bridesmaid dress to the unaffordable Las Vegas bachelorette party (which they never get to experience after a dramatic plane ride). As she struggles with her life and finances, she decides she has hit rock bottom. She almost loses Lillian’s friendship and moves back into her mother’s house. After much effort, she decides to â€Å"break free from the chains†. Life turned around for her and at the end of the movie she realized she was the only thing holding herself back from being happy. Bridesmaids portrays sex and sexuality as a good and bad thing. This is not your typical love story, but more of a pathetic one. It shows both sides (healthy and unhealthy) exceptionally well. It describes his time in the Holocaust and helps the reader fully understand the pain he went through. In the text, Elie continuously mentions how he is losing his faith to god. It is evident that he has nearly, if not completely lost his faith during the events of the holocaust. In the memoir, Night, Elie Wiesel’s faith changes because of the absence of God, the dehumanization of the prisoners, and all of the death that surrounds him. The idea behind the establishment of the University dates back to 1996 when the precursor of the University, the Thika Institute of Technology was founded as a Computer Outreach Program. At this point in time in Kenyan history, the development of Information Communication Technology (ICT) both Mobile Telephony and Computer Technology had started gaining an upward momentum in rural and urban centres. In the year 2000, the Institute developed into a commercial college offering management and computer training programmes. Later in the year the Ministry of Education Science and Technology recognized the institute as a full fledged institution of higher learning and granted it a full registration approval. In order to remain relevant with the training needs of the society, the institute initiated training programmes in the fields of paramedical, Information Technology, and Business and Entrepreneurship education in the year 2002. In the year 2005 the Institute became the 1st private institution in Kenya to be allowed to train Pharmaceutical Technologists by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of the Ministry of Health. In the year 2006 the Commission for Higher Education (CHE) validated and pproved the institute’s request for collaboration with JKUAT to offer both Diploma and Degree programmes. The Institute continued to work closely with the Commission for Higher Education in line with the stipulated guidelines for establishing a privately funded university. Technology is very much a part of modern life. Many people see technology as a force that has escaped from human control. Others feel that technology has improved the quality of life. Most importantly, we can see how scientific are in the process of looking for the solution to current diseases, and this will be possible, with the use of advanced medical technology. The best reason for me to applaud contribution technology made is in the field of education. I see how the advances in technology help students in their learning. For instance, the use of projectors and video conferences help in important amount in the process of learning; by using these approaches, different kinds of students intelligence can be addressed. Computers are another example of contribution that technology made to educational field. The use of well equipped computer lab is truly helpful for students because they have the chance to learn computer skills that are very important in almost all the work environments. Nowadays, teachers can find information they can use in their daily lessons. For instance, in a math class, teachers can use updated statistical information finding in computers (by just a click), and they can infuse these information into a lesson, making the lesson related with real life situations for students. In the final analysis, I think the benefits technology offer to improve the quality of life outweigh the deficits. I do not think technology is out of human control and by the exposed in lines above we can easily see how technology helps and improves the quality of human live in the daily routine, Medical advances allow humans to live longer and more healthy lives than ever before and technological advances make the learning more easy. Ultimately, Technology is developed by people to help improve quality of human lives and all of us are using technological advances in many different ways, also to indicate that it is incontrollable.
